Two individuals were arrested on new felony charges during a Halloween safety operation conducted by the Marin County Probation Department and Marin County Sheriff's Office on October 28, the agency said. The operation focused on verifying that people under probation supervision were complying with court-ordered conditions.
The department targeted 13 individuals who had current convictions for sexual offenses against children and child endangerment, according to the agency.
Of the 13 individuals contacted, 11 were found to be in compliance with their probation conditions. The two arrested faced charges including the possession of numerous images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material, as well as probation violations. Officers also documented one firearms violation involving an individual found in possession of ammunition despite a prior felony conviction prohibiting it.
The 11 individuals in compliance will continue under probation supervision and rehabilitation programming as required by their court-ordered terms, the agency said.
