The Oklahoma Insurance Department placed Mending Health Insurance in Oklahoma into conservatorship due to the company's precarious financial standing, Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready announced.

Mending Health had been under administrative supervision since July 31, 2026, the department said. After monitoring the company during that period, regulators determined conservatorship was necessary, giving the commissioner authority to take over the company's day-to-day operations and thoroughly examine its finances.

Mending Health notified the department on June 25, 2026, that it was withdrawing from the Oklahoma marketplace effective December 31, 2026. The company's policies will not be available for renewal during the 2027 open enrollment period.

Members' existing policies remain in effect and policyholders must continue paying premiums to maintain coverage, the department said. The Oklahoma Insurance Department is coordinating with federal regulators to help members find alternative coverage.
