The Open Enrollment Period to choose Healthcare.gov coverage for 2027 begins November 1, 2026, and runs through January 15, 2027, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

More than 75% of Americans purchasing coverage through HealthCare.gov will have access to premiums at or below $50 in 2027. Americans eligible for tax credits will have access to a plan with nearly 90% of the lowest-cost premium paid for by the federal government, according to CMS.

On average, Americans will have access to 100 different plans and five to six different insurance companies. In 2027, eligible enrollees will have access to 35 different health plans on average that are HSA-eligible, the agency said.

Catastrophic plans, which offer access to co-pay-free preventive care and protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions, have an average premium nearly 10% cheaper than the next lowest-cost plan at other coverage levels.
