Prince George's County, Maryland, released an alleged MS-13 gang member in December 2025 despite an immigration detainer, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Allan Adonay Contreras-Vasquez had been arrested following an assault in Hyattsville, Maryland, in which a victim was stabbed multiple times after being stalked as he got off a bus. On February 18, 2026, he was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

Between his release from custody and the charges, a witness claimed Contreras-Vasquez raped a 13-year-old girl in January 2026. He was arrested by Prince George's County again in May 2026 and released again in June 2026. He remains at large.

Contreras-Vasquez, a Honduran national, entered the United States illegally through Texas in August 2023 and was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol.
