Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales hosted Regional Election Security and Cybersecurity Tabletop Exercises across the state to strengthen election security, preparedness, and response capabilities.

The exercises brought together county election administrators and key partners involved in election operations and emergency response, including county clerks and election officials, state and federal cybersecurity experts, local IT directors, Emergency Management Agency directors, sheriffs and law enforcement leadership, and other county and municipal officials. A virtual exercise was also conducted.

The exercises allowed participants to work through real-world scenarios, identify potential gaps, strengthen communication, and develop coordinated response plans before an emergency occurs.

The exercises addressed potential situations that could affect election operations, including cybersecurity incidents, physical security threats, and other emergencies.

Secretary of State staff will be on duty around the clock on Election Day monitoring critical systems, assisting voters and election administrators, and providing incident response coordination, according to the office.
