The Wyoming Department of Education opened a supplemental application window to fill 89 additional positions in its education savings account program, with the deadline today at 9 p.m. Mountain Time.

The application window opened Tuesday morning. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, though families with siblings already approved and active in the program receive priority under state statute.

The program provides $7,000 annually to eligible students for private school tuition, curriculum, tutoring, extracurricular activities, and other approved education costs. Pre-kindergarten students must be 4 years old by August 1, 2026, with household income at or below 250 percent of federal poverty guidelines—approximately $80,375 for a family of four. Kindergarten through 12th grade students must be at least 5 years old by August 1, 2026, cannot turn 21 before that date, must live in Wyoming, and cannot be currently enrolled in public school.

The department will review applications from October 30 through November 13. Applicants approved for the program must opt in by November 22 to continue participation. For those currently enrolled in public school, opting in triggers a 15-day unenrollment window. Account funding begins December 10 for approved participants.

The program was established by the Wyoming Education Savings Account Act in 2024 and amended by the Steamboat Legacy Scholarship Act in 2025.
