The Nevada Attorney General's Office announced it will enforce election laws and protect voters from intimidation ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
"Every eligible Nevadan should be able to exercise their right to vote without fear of intimidation or unlawful interference," Attorney General Ford said.
Under Nevada law, it is unlawful to use threats, force or intimidation to influence a person's vote or prevent someone from exercising their voting rights. The state also protects election officials and workers from threats and interference with their duties.
The Attorney General's Office investigates and prosecutes election-related offenses and represents the state in election-related legal matters. The office works with state and local authorities to address violations of election laws.
Nevadans who witness suspected voter intimidation, threats or other violations are encouraged to contact the Nevada Attorney General's Office at (775) 684-1100 or (702) 486-3420. For emergencies, call 911.
Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
