Federal law enforcement arrested Inique Shaquil Hinton of Douglasville, Georgia, in connection with an alleged attempted firebombing of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Atlanta.
Hinton has been charged federally with arson and damaging federal property. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information regarding the charges and court proceedings will be handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia.
The arrest reflects a coordinated effort by the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, ICE and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia.
"An operation of this speed and magnitude requires extraordinary collaboration," said Ellen Johnson, Acting Special Agent in Charge of HSI in Georgia and Alabama. "I want to express my deepest thanks to our law enforcement partners for their exceptional work on this case, including the tireless dedication of our Joint Terrorism Task Force partners, the FBI, DHS and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia."
A criminal charge is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
