Early in-person voting begins Saturday, October 24 in Michigan for the November 3 General Election, with voting sites open statewide through Sunday, November 1. The expansion of early voting came from a constitutional amendment voters approved in 2022 that requires at least nine days of in-person voting in every community, according to the Michigan Secretary of State's office.

"Early voting is a convenient option that lets you cast your ballot on your own schedule at a time that works best for you," said Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie. The voting process mirrors Election Day procedures: voters receive their ballot, make their choices, and directly insert the completed ballot into the tabulator. Early voting sites will be open for at least eight hours every day during the period, though some communities are offering additional early voting days.

Registered Michigan voters can return mail ballots to their early voting sites before Election Day. Eligible Michigan citizens who have not yet registered can do so at their city or township clerk's office up to 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, with proof of residency. Registered voters can find their local early voting site, hours, and days at mi.gov/earlyvoting.
