Warrant Officer Jenna Sorenson, a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter pilot with Wisconsin's 1st Battalion, 147th Aviation Regiment, has joined the Army Warrior Fitness Team, according to the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs.
Sorenson finished first place among 72 female soldiers competing for the limited positions on the elite team. Only the top four female competitors earn spots.
Sorenson was commissioned as an aviation officer in 2019 through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She earned the designation of pilot in command while activated for an out-of-state mission with the Wisconsin National Guard.
The Army Warrior At-Large Qualifier combined scores from the 2026 CrossFit Open and Semifinals to rank applicants, narrowing a field of more than 250,000 competitors to a select group.
"I ended up taking first place and was one of four women who made the team this year," Sorenson said. "I'm very proud that the countless hours in the gym and the investment in my training finally led to such a high achievement."
Sorenson began CrossFit training in 2021 during flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama. In the CrossFit Service Cup online qualifier, she earned recognition as the third-fittest female military professional in the world.
Team members conduct public engagement events to support Army recruitment efforts and compete for top honors at CrossFit competitions.
