Marin County is launching its first comprehensive countywide strategic plan in more than 25 years, beginning with a series of community workshops to gather input on the county's future direction.

Working with the Centre for Organization Effectiveness, the county will host seven facilitated workshops across Marin in November and early December. The workshops will ask participants what they value about Marin today, what challenges deserve greater attention, and what they would like Marin to become over the next five to 10 years.

The county said community input gathered this fall will help inform the goals, priorities and strategies developed for the plan.

The first workshop is scheduled for November 12 at Marin Art & Garden Center in Ross. Six additional workshops follow through early December at locations across the county, including San Rafael, Novato, and Mill Valley. The county said it will provide language assistance and childcare at select locations, as well as virtual workshop options.

A Spanish-language virtual workshop is scheduled for December 2, and an English-language virtual workshop for December 5. Residents can participate through any format that works for them, with registration encouraged but not required for in-person workshops.

Those unable to attend a workshop can participate through the county's online Engage Marin platform to share their input on the county's future.
