The Trump administration announced $8 million in federal funding for 28 rural healthcare providers across Texas through the Rural Health Transformation Program.

The funding will support recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, medical equipment and facility improvements, and chronic disease prevention efforts across rural Texas, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said.

CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz said the investment represents "federal investment that is putting patients first, driving lasting improvements and expanding healthcare for the hardworking Americans who call these communities home."

The funding was made available through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which provided a $50 billion investment for rural health transformation nationwide.
