Indiana has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), for the state's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, according to State Comptroller Elise Nieshalla.

The award, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, reflects the work of the State Comptroller's Accounting and Reporting Team, Nieshalla said.

Indiana maintains AAA credit ratings from Fitch Ratings, Moody's Investors Service, and S&P Global Ratings. The state's fiscal position is supported by well-funded pensions, healthy cash reserves, and it ranks as the fourth-lowest debt per capita state, according to the announcement.

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, prepared annually by the State Comptroller's Office and audited by the Indiana State Board of Accounts, provides financial statements, demographic and economic data, and statistical analyses intended to help policymakers, analysts and the public understand the state's fiscal condition.
