All 31 Michigan State Police posts will accept expired and unused prescription medications on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Safe disposal of medications prevents prescription drug misuse and protects the environment, the state police said. All collected pills will be destroyed with no questions asked. The agency will not accept liquids, inhalers, patches, or syringes.

Residents can find a collection site at Michigan.gov/MSPPosts.

Anyone unable to participate on October 24 can surrender prescription drugs at any MSP post Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
