Texas Comptroller Don Huffines launched a whistleblower portal that allows people to anonymously report fraud, corruption, tax evasion, waste, and abuse involving state tax dollars. The portal sends tips directly to the Comptroller's Law Enforcement Operations (LEO) division, which investigates the reports.

Texans can submit detailed reports, upload supporting documentation, and remain anonymous if they choose.

The LEO division is a statewide police organization under the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and Tax Code. It investigates government fraud and corruption, including officials who misuse taxpayer money, businesses and nonprofits that break state tax law, perjury, record tampering, and all types of tax fraud and evasion. The division also pursues money laundering and organized crime charges where warranted.

Huffines, who took office Aug. 1, said the portal gives Texans a direct way to help investigators. "Texans see things we cannot. If you witness or suspect fraud, tax evasion, waste, or abuse, report it."
