The Lake Oswego DMV office will remain closed through this week following ongoing facility problems, the Oregon Department of Transportation said. The office at 3 SW Monroe Pkwy, Suite D, has experienced plumbing and air quality issues since late September, prompting inspections and repairs.
The location has closed periodically since Oct. 6 as officials worked with building management and the state's safety office to investigate and address the source of odors. Plumbing and HVAC repairs have been completed, and air quality testing has not shown emissions outside safe ranges. Natural gas and carbon monoxide were not detected.
'The health and safety of our employees and customers is a top priority. We will reopen as soon as we can do so safely,' said David McKay, DMV Field Services Group Manager. Customers with appointments this week will be notified to reschedule.
Nearby DMV offices are available in Gladstone, downtown Portland, Beaverton, and Sherwood. The agency also operates DMV Express Kiosks in Fred Meyer stores throughout the region, offering some services during extended hours. Online transactions through DMV2U are available 24 hours a day for over 30 common services.
