Dallas Area Rapid Transit issued a Request for Qualifications and Concepts (RFQ/C) for an 18.3-acre site at Westmoreland Station in Southern Dallas, seeking to identify a qualified development team to create a transit-oriented community at the location.

The site is located at 2646 S. Westmoreland Road and serves as the southern terminus of DART's Red Line, with connections to six bus routes and on-demand transit service. The combination of available land and multimodal transit access positions the property as a significant opportunity for development, DART said.

Caitlin Holland, DART vice president of Real Estate and Economic Development, said the agency is looking for a partner to create a walkable destination. "Westmoreland Station represents an opportunity to connect transit, development and community investment in Southern Dallas," she said.

This project advances DART's strategy to leverage agency-owned property near transit to create destinations where people can live, work and connect without relying solely on a car. The agency's other transit-oriented development projects include Palladium Buckner Station, a 300-unit multifamily community with direct access to bus and rail service; the redevelopment of SMU/Mockingbird Station into a mixed-use destination; Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton, where the first phase of a 25-acre development opened in 2025; and Addison Junction near the new Silver Line station in Addison, where groundbreaking is planned for 2027.

Developers interested in the opportunity can review the RFQ/C and additional information at www.DART.org/TOD.
