Residents in Pittsburgh and across Allegheny County are receiving mailers about Switch Together, a group buying program for solar installations endorsed by the city and county.
The 2026 program, offered in partnership with nonprofit Solar United Neighbors, invites homeowners to explore options for rooftop solar installations, battery storage, and electric vehicle chargers at reduced prices through group purchasing.
More than 400 local residents participated in Switch Together last year, with participants seeing an average discount of 16% on solar proposals. County Executive Sara Innamorato said the program "gives residents an opportunity to learn more about solar and explore whether it makes sense for their homes, while using the collective buying power of our communities to make these options more accessible."
