The city of Las Vegas is allowing parking tickets issued between October 1 and November 13 to be paid with donations of new, unwrapped toys, the city announced.
Toys collected through the program will be donated to Chicanos Por La Causa, a nonprofit that assists homeless families in obtaining permanent housing. Those with qualifying parking infractions can satisfy their fines by bringing toys of equal or greater value than their fine to the Parking Services Office at 350 South City Parkway within 30 days of their citation date, or by purchasing toys online and having them delivered to the office with their citation number included.
Qualifying violations include overtime meter citations, restricted time zone violations, abandoned vehicle citations, commercial vehicle violations, and other categories. Toy collections continue through December 14.
