VA healthcare is built around Veterans’ unique needs and experiences, with comprehensive care that recognizes their service and supports their health and well-being.
Through the Choose VA campaign , VA is helping more Veterans understand what is available to them by answering eligibility questions, addressing common misconceptions and explaining how to get started .
The Choose VA Tele-Town Hall initiative expanded that outreach nationwide, with every VA healthcare system connecting directly with unenrolled Veterans through a live, virtual event or an on-demand enrollment presentation.
Together, this effort has supported more than 6,900 Veterans in enrolling in VA healthcare.
The goal was straightforward: Give unenrolled Veterans clear information about VA healthcare, address common questions and misconceptions about eligibility, and make it easier to take the next step toward enrollment.
Veterans learned about the care and services available through VA and received answers to questions that may have prevented them from applying.
For example, Veterans can keep private health insurance while enrolled in VA healthcare, and income is only one of several factors VA considers when determining eligibility.
And that information reached millions.
VA delivered 7.5 million emails to unenrolled Veterans.
More than 2.1 million were opened, and Veterans clicked on enrollment-resource links more than 40,000 times.
VA healthcare goes beyond primary care. Depending on eligibility , Veterans may have access to:
Specialty care,
Mental health and whole health services,
Prescription medications,
Virtual visits ,
Urgent care ,
Vision and hearing services,
Community care and more.
