Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a $7.5 million settlement with Tris Pharmaceuticals over the company's marketing of Dyanavel XR, an attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication marketed for children.

The settlement resolves a 2023 lawsuit alleging Tris Pharma misrepresented the drug's efficacy. The company overstated how quickly Dyanavel XR worked compared to competing medications and made other unproven claims to doctors, including those in the Texas Medicaid program. Sales representatives made these misleading claims during thousands of sales calls, according to the lawsuit. The company's CEO is Ketan Mehta.

Under the settlement, Tris Pharma must pay $7.5 million to Texas.
