US 160 east of Kayenta in Arizona has reopened following critical repairs to a flood-damaged section of the highway, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The highway closed on Sept. 16 after heavy rain and flooding significantly damaged approximately 80 feet of roadway near Dennehotso. Over the following week, including weekend work, crews completed drainage improvements, roadway reconstruction, and installed new pavement, asphalt and striping.

Minor work items will continue over the next two weeks, including permanent striping of the newly repaired section. ADOT encouraged motorists to slow down and pay attention in work zones.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT's Arizona Traveler Information website at az511.gov, the AZ511 app, or by calling 511.
