The Trump administration is investing $51 million in rural Texas health programs aimed at preventing and managing chronic disease, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced.

The Rural Health Transformation Program funding will support 68 rural hospital districts and authorities working to prevent and manage diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and obesity.

The investment is part of a $281 million first-year allocation to Texas under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which established the Rural Health Transformation Program with a $50 billion commitment over five years for rural health transformation efforts.
