The Marin Cultural Association announced two new competitive grant programs representing a combined $100,000 investment in arts and culture throughout Marin County, California.

The MCA Arts Across Marin Grants program will award five $10,000 grants, one in each of the county's five supervisorial districts, to support community-centered arts and cultural activities led by artists, artist collectives, and nonprofit organizations. Eligible activities include community arts events, festivals, performances and exhibitions; participatory arts and creative learning opportunities; public art and creative placemaking; and collaborative activities that expand community participation in arts and culture.

The Arts Now Marin Education Grants program will award $50,000 in competitive grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to transitional kindergarten through fifth grade public schools, educators, and school-based partners to expand equitable access to arts education for Marin students.

The MCA, founded in 2015, works in partnership with the County of Marin's Department of Cultural Services. The Arts Across Marin program is funded through the California Arts Council, while the Education Grants program is supported by the Marin Community Foundation.

Applications for both programs close at 5 PM Friday, December 4. MCA will host a free online information session at noon Monday, October 5 covering both programs, eligibility requirements, and application tips.
