The Health Resources and Services Administration announced more than $100 million in investments to strengthen rural health care, advance telehealth, and improve dental care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

The funding includes $11 million to develop new physician residency programs in rural communities, $25 million to help small rural hospitals maintain their workforce and sustain essential services, and $19 million to advance telehealth and innovative technologies to support nutrition services and rural health workforce development. Additionally, $51 million was announced for HRSA-funded health centers to improve access to dental care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

HRSA officials have also been engaging with grantees across the country. The agency recognized a federally qualified health center in Indiana among the top 10 percent of community health centers nationwide and visited health centers in Alabama celebrating new access points that will expand care for communities across the state.

The agency is also launching a virtual continuing education webinar series beginning October 7, with the inaugural session addressing screening and treatment of pediatric depression and anxiety.
