Kiet Tuan Tran, a junior at Delavan-Darien High School, won the 2027 Wisconsin State Park and Forest vehicle admission pass design contest, the state Department of Natural Resources announced. The winning design features camping, described as one of the most popular outdoor activities in the state park system.
The annual contest, now in its 36th year, received more than 120 submissions from high school-age students attending Wisconsin's public, private and parochial schools or home-schools. Second place went to Olive Minell, who is homeschooled, and third place to Samantha Kramer of Grantsburg High School.
The 12-month vehicle admission passes with the 2027 design will go on sale Friday, January 1, 2027. Passes cost $28 for Wisconsin residents and $50 for nonresidents. The DNR said it is now accepting entries for the 2028 contest, with submissions due by April 30, 2027.
