The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has released Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) final scores for the 2025 performance year that will determine payment adjustments doctors and hospitals receive in 2027. Providers can access their scores through the Quality Payment Program website and request a review if they believe there is an error.
The targeted review period will last approximately 60 days, opening with the release of scores and closing 30 days after CMS releases the associated payment adjustments, which the agency said will be available in approximately one month.
Eligible parties who believe there is an error in their score — such as data submitted under the wrong tax identification number or national provider identifier, or a failure to automatically reweight performance categories — can request a targeted review through the QPP website.
The agency said targeted review decisions are final and not eligible for further appeal. Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organizations may also request reviews if they are approved as staff users.
For access to scores, providers must sign in using their HCQIS Access Roles and Profile system credentials, the same login used to submit 2025 MIPS data. CMS provides supplemental and patient-level reports for administrative claims quality and cost measures.
