Oregon has recommended 12 rail, marine, and air transportation projects for funding through the state's Connect Oregon grant program, the Department of Transportation announced.

The Final Review Committee made its recommendations on Sept. 8, selecting the projects from 35 applications that collectively requested $79 million. The program has approximately $30 million available due to a one-time funding redirection earlier this year, ODOT said.

The Oregon Transportation Commission will make final decisions on the recommended projects at its December 2026 meeting, the agency said.

The public can submit comments on any of the 35 projects through Sept. 25 via email or at a virtual meeting on Sept. 22 from 10 to 11 a.m., ODOT said. People who email their intent to comment will be heard first, in the order their emails were received.

Since its creation in 2005, the Connect Oregon grant program has supported 240 projects to improve Oregon's non-highway transportation infrastructure. Funding comes from the light vehicle dealer privilege tax established in the 2017 state transportation funding law.
