U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported a Haitian national in September following his arrest in Mattapan, Massachusetts, the Department of Homeland Security said. The arrest drew online attention after video captured the man making pro-Biden statements as he was being taken into custody.

Wisteguens Jean Quely Charles had 17 criminal convictions including assault and battery on a public employee, resisting arrest, drug-related offenses, weapons charges, and trespassing, according to the agency. He was identified as a member of the Back Block Money Gang.

Charles was granted Temporary Protected Status in February 2013 and admitted to the United States in July 2013 under the Obama administration. His TPS status was terminated in July 2022. A federal immigration judge issued a removal order on November 7, 2025.
