Wisconsin health officials confirmed a measles case in a Marathon County resident, according to tests conducted at the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene. The case resulted from exposure during out-of-state travel and is not connected to a concurrent outbreak in Southwest Wisconsin, state health officials said.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Marathon County Health Department are investigating the case and working to identify people who may have been exposed to the measles virus.
No public locations have been identified as exposure sites so far. The department said it will update its Outbreaks and Investigations webpage if exposure locations are confirmed.
