The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced awards through multiple Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund programs to expand lending and investment in economically disadvantaged communities, the agency said.

The awards span the FY 2025 CDFI and Native American CDFI Assistance programs and the FY 2026 Bank Enterprise Award and Small Dollar Loan programs. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the awards reflect the department's commitment to "ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and advancing economic opportunity in communities that need it most."

The CDFI Fund programs support small business expansion, consumer lending, and community development investments. The Native American CDFI Assistance program specifically targets community development financial institutions serving Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities.

Awards organizations were to receive official notifications by September 30, 2026. The Treasury is conducting oversight of the awards through audits, compliance reviews, and monitoring of awardee performance and expenditures.
