Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a man at a commercial vehicle weigh station in Newberry, Pennsylvania on Sept. 4 after discovering he was in the United States illegally, the Department of Homeland Security said.

The man, Simranpal Singh of India, presented a commercial driver's license from New York when an ICE officer conducted the vehicle inspection. Singh was taken into custody.

At the time of his arrest, Singh had an outstanding warrant for wire fraud and wire fraud conspiracy out of the Middle District of Pennsylvania, according to DHS. He remains in ICE custody pending transfer to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Singh illegally entered the United States through Arizona in June 2022 and was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol, according to the agency. He was subsequently released and issued a commercial driver's license by New York.
