The Trump Administration announced a $1.25 million federal investment to expand healthcare access for children in rural North Carolina through the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).

The funds will support new and expanded school-based health centers, telehealth services, and mobile care units to bring healthcare closer to students in rural communities.

This investment follows a previous $10 million announcement for 39 rural emergency medical services agencies in North Carolina to expand behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment.

The investment represents part of a broader rural health initiative. According to the Administration, the program gives rural communities flexibility to build solutions tailored to their needs while demanding accountability for results.
