Michigan's Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy approved an air permit for Ford Motor Company's Blue Oval Battery Plant on September 10, 2026, without requiring changes to the agreement.

The facility is located at 13700 West Michigan Avenue in Marshall. Ford requested modifications to its previously permitted air permit after making changes to the plant's final design.

The state agency conducted a public comment period that included a virtual information session and a hearing before issuing the final approval. Information on the permit, including final conditions and responses to public comments, is available through the state's MiEnviro Portal.
