U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported individuals last week with criminal histories, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Among those removed were individuals convicted of sexual assault, drunk driving, and violent crimes.
Miguel Baltazar-Bernal from Mexico was deported August 29 following convictions for sexual intercourse with a minor, corporal injury to a spouse, and felon in possession of a firearm. Baltazar-Bernal had been deported six times previously, with prior removals in 1990, 1992, 1995, 1996, 2005, and 2019.
The agency also deported Omer Karahodzic from Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 27, Teofilo Ramos-Ramos from Guatemala on August 28, Cecilia Gonzalez-Chavez from Mexico on August 24, and Altiman Peterkin from Jamaica on August 27. Karahodzic had convictions for assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Ramos-Ramos was convicted of false imprisonment and driving with measurable blood alcohol causing injury. Gonzalez-Chavez had convictions for aggravated assault and battery. Peterkin was convicted of assault and battery of a family member.
