U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested five individuals based on criminal convictions, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The arrested individuals and their convictions, according to DHS, are: Dung Tran from Vietnam, convicted of murder in the Bronx, New York; Adin Genis-Mendez from Guatemala, convicted of two counts of injury to a child and lewd conduct with a minor under 16 in Kuna, Idaho; Sol Kim from Vietnam, convicted of two counts of firearm use, unlawful wounding, two counts of robbery, and assault and battery in Arlington, Virginia; Gonzalo Ramos-Siguan from Guatemala, convicted of first-degree assault in Montgomery County, Maryland; and Marcos Montiel-Lopez from Mexico, convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine in Wilmington, North Carolina.
According to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, ICE operates under direction to arrest and remove individuals with criminal convictions.
