Gov. Greg Abbott surveyed damages from the Ross Fire in Palo Pinto and Jack counties and provided an update on the state's ongoing wildfire response. The Governor noted that residents and first responders have faced the fire with courage and resilience, with no reported deaths or injuries.
More than 1,300 state responders and over 525 pieces of equipment have been deployed to support local wildfire response operations. The Ross Fire has threatened homes, damaged property, impacted infrastructure, and prompted local evacuations across North Texas.
Abbott said that once the fire is extinguished, Texas will remain involved to address the needs of families in the region and help rebuild affected communities. Residents impacted by wildfire are urged to report damage through the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) by visiting damage.tdem.texas.gov.
