The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality selected 18 K-12 science educators as ambassadors for the third year of its Take Care of Texas program.
Over the 2026-2027 school year, the educators will use provided lesson plans to spread awareness of environmental conservation and share information about the program's contests with colleagues and students statewide, according to the agency.
The ambassador program aims to equip teachers with knowledge and resources to promote environmental education and gather feedback on curriculum improvements.
The selected educators come from public schools, charter schools, museums, and nonprofit organizations across Texas.
