The U.S. Department of Homeland Security deported five individuals in late August, each with criminal convictions, the agency announced. Charges included assault, robbery, child endangerment, and domestic violence.
Heriton Aredes, deported Aug. 26, was from Brazil. His convictions included assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and reckless operation. According to DHS, he illegally entered the country, was deported in October 2008, and then illegally re-entered.
Juan Hortencio Palacios-Gomez, deported Aug. 24, was from Honduras. His convictions included felony domestic abuse with child endangerment, cruelty to juveniles, and simple kidnapping. After a deportation order in February 2024, he was deported in March 2024, then illegally re-entered, according to DHS.
Joel Garcia-Lopez, deported Aug. 24, was from Mexico with convictions for assault against a public safety official and public intoxication. Razi A. Butt, deported Aug. 26, was from Pakistan with convictions for robbery, unauthorized vehicle use, and disorderly conduct. Jacsaint Florvil, deported Aug. 27, was from Haiti with a conviction for domestic violence.
