The Texas Education Agency designated 329 public schools as Purple Star Campuses for the 2026-27 school year in recognition of their commitment to supporting students from military families, bringing the total number of designated campuses to 427.

To earn the designation, schools must appoint a military liaison, establish and maintain an accessible webpage with required information for military-connected families, launch a transition program for military-connected students, and support a military family initiative. Designations last two years.

The Purple Star Campus program was established through legislation signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in 2019. All Texas public school campuses are eligible to apply regardless of the size of their military-connected student population, with applications accepted annually.
