U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 50,925 people in August 2026, setting a monthly record and surpassing July's 50,208 arrests, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The August figure marked the second consecutive month with arrests exceeding 50,000, following June's 43,900.
Among those arrested were individuals convicted of serious crimes. In August, ICE arrested people convicted of DUI manslaughter, child pornography, murder, sexual assault of a minor, and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, according to the department.
The department said that since President Trump returned to office, more than 3 million people in the country illegally have departed the United States. The department is offering people in the country illegally $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport through the CBP Home App.
