Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport is preparing for more than 140,000 passengers over the Labor Day weekend, September 3 through September 8, airport officials said.
The busiest days are expected to be Thursday, September 3, and Monday, September 7. Passengers were advised to arrive early and allow extra time for parking and security screening.
Along with the travel surge, the airport has completed several facility improvements. Terminal 1 has modernized public restrooms, while Terminal 2 added new dining and retail options, including Trader Vic's — an iconic Bay Area restaurant — and Plum Market, which offers fresh foods, beverages, and travel essentials.
"We are committed to providing an enjoyable travel experience," said Craig Simon, director of aviation at the Port of Oakland. "Whether passengers are beginning a holiday getaway or returning home, we are ready to welcome guests with the convenient, affordable, and stress-free experience that OAK is known for."
