Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced a business expansion that will create at least 125 new jobs in the defense industry. Capture Group Inc., the U.S. entity of Capture Systems Ltd., will establish a manufacturing and engineering facility in Sterling Heights with at least $5 million in capital investment.
The company develops advanced Counter-UAS platforms designed to detect, identify, and neutralize unmanned aerial systems. The Sterling Heights facility will include production lines for Counter-UAS platforms, optical surveillance systems, and mobile defense systems, and will serve as a center for development and testing of advanced counter-drone systems and remote-controlled weapon stations.
The expansion was awarded a $936,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund. New jobs are expected to carry starting wages of $25.00 per hour plus benefits, with the company expecting to create at least 125 qualified jobs over the next five years.
Capture Systems Ltd. formed its U.S. entity in 2026 to establish a presence in the American market. According to COO Avi Braun, "This investment represents a major milestone in our global expansion strategy and reflects our long-term commitment to creating high-value jobs, investing in advanced manufacturing, and strengthening America's defense industrial base." The company also considered sites in Florida and Virginia.
