The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation adopted changes to rules governing the Podiatric Medicine Program, the agency announced.
The revisions implement Senate Bill 968 from the 2025 legislative session. The law eliminated unique training requirements for members of the Podiatric Medical Examiners Advisory Board and replaced references to "temporary residency licenses" with "residency licenses."
The changes also repealed provisional licenses in the program.
The updated rules took effect September 1, 2026. The adoption justification was published in the August 28, 2026, issue of the Texas Register.
