Proponents of Proposed Initiative #234, "Plain Language Ballot Questions," have gathered enough signatures to place their measure on Colorado's November 3, 2026 general election ballot, the state's Elections Division announced.
The initiative required signatures equal to 2 percent of registered voters from each state senate district, as well as meeting an overall statewide threshold of 124,238 signatures. Proponents submitted 176,224 total petition signatures, with the Elections Division validating 141,305 of them. The measure met the required signature threshold in all 35 state senate districts.
The initiative, if approved by voters, would change the Colorado Constitution. A copy of the petition is on file with the Colorado Secretary of State's office.
