The Boulder County Sheriff's Office has suspended active daily search operations for Andrew Lord after extensive ground, water, and aerial searches found no trace of the missing hiker.
Lord, 42, was reported missing on August 21, 2026, near Winiger Ridge Campground. He is a white male, 5'11", 165 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.
Over the past week, the sheriff's office and multiple partner agencies—including the Boulder Emergency Squad, Boulder Fire Rescue, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and several search and rescue organizations—devoted significant resources to locate him. Specialized water-based searches of Gross Reservoir were conducted with sonar and dive operations.
"Despite these extensive efforts, Andrew has not yet been located. After covering all identified areas multiple times, we have made the difficult decision to suspend active daily search operations," the sheriff's office said. The agency said it will remain in contact with Lord's family, and the state's Marine Evidence Recovery Team may return for additional searches in coming weeks. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boulder County Sheriff's Office at 303-441-4444, referencing Case Report 26-03991.
