The Trump Administration announced $93.3 million in federal funding for rural hospitals in Georgia, part of the first-year allocation of the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), according to a statement released August 26, 2026.
The investment will support 87 rural hospitals as they prepare for value-based care models, expand training for nurses, emergency medical technicians and paramedics, and improve access to telehealth, maternal health, behavioral health and newborn screening services.
The funding will also bring technology infrastructure to rural communities, including surgical robotics, dementia care capacity, and enhanced cybersecurity systems for rural hospitals.
Georgia has now committed the full $218 million in first-year RHTP funding awarded to the state. The RHTP is funded through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which allocated $50 billion to help states transform rural healthcare delivery.
