The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General announced its partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice in launching the National Fraud Detection Center on August 25. As a signatory to the center's charter, the VA's office committed dedicated analysts and investigators to the prosecutor-led effort to strengthen interagency coordination to detect and dismantle complex fraud schemes.
"Partnering with the DOJ in the NFDC equips our agents, analysts, auditors, and inspectors with the shared tools, data, and resources to better detect, investigate, and prevent fraud," Inspector General Cheryl L. Mason said. "This alliance strengthens our ability to hold those accountable who seek to undermine the integrity of services and programs for veterans."
