Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a $4.7 million project to replace the pavement on a two-mile stretch of US 60 through downtown Globe, between Santee Street and US 70. The agency also made sidewalk, curb, and gutter repairs, along with guardrail and bridge improvements in the project zone.
The stretch of US 60 runs through the heart of downtown Globe and sees an average of 16,400 vehicles traveling through the area each day. ADOT maintained at least one lane of traffic in each direction during the project to reduce impacts on commuters.
The improved roadway pavement and updated safety elements are intended to provide a safer, smoother drive for those traveling through the area.
