U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the arrest of five individuals with serious criminal convictions, according to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

The arrests included Ruben Gomez-Vargas, who was convicted of second-degree murder and carrying a loaded firearm in San Diego, California; Lydia Nartin Mike, convicted of first-degree robbery, domestic violence and third-degree domestic assault in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Eduardo Rivera-Talavera, convicted of robbery with a firearm, battery and willful cruelty to a child in Santa Ana, California.

Also arrested were Sergio Medina, convicted of larceny and two counts of burglary of a building in Terrell, Texas, and Antonio Cortez-Sanchez, convicted of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance in Houston, Texas.
